Birth is an incredibly transformative experience and everyone deserves to feel supported and held through it. I have always loved all things pregnancy, birth and motherhood, but my passion was truly ignited in high school when I did a co-op placement with our local midwives. There, I was introduced to the beauty and strength of birthing women and how absolutely powerful it is to bring forth new life. I have been working as a certified birth doula for the past seven years and have loved all that it entails! From my own birth birth journeys, I have learned the courage it takes to choose what’s right for me, but also how much having great support can help me navigate the process of self-advocacy and ownership of my experience. Even through the unexpected, that continuous care was invaluable. I want to empower others in this same way. After job-shadowing at a local midwifery clinic in 2022 and seeing the impact that a strong support system makes; it lit a fire within me to pursue my doula career. Very shortly thereafter, I was welcomed to attend a birth with Anna as the secondary doula. I walked away from that birth knowing this was undoubtedly what I was being called to pursue! I went on to complete my certification and jumped right into supporting families. Now that I’m a mama myself, I have witnessed first hand how important it is to have a strong circle of support. Even though birth doesn’t always go as we planned; feeling seen, supported and held through the process makes all the difference! It is my desire to provide this level of compassion and care to each family that I serve.
